Acceptable Use Policy
TEMPLATE — REVIEW WITH COUNSEL BEFORE USE.
Effective date: 2026-05-12
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to anyone who uses the Arkin Vault service, whether as an admin or a document recipient. Violations may result in immediate suspension, termination, content removal, and reporting to authorities.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use the service to host, transmit, or share:
- Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, or other intellectual property of third parties.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexually explicit material involving minors.
- Material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that incites violence against any person or group.
- Content classified or controlled by export-control or sanctions laws absent appropriate licenses.
- Personal data of third parties for which you have no lawful basis to share.
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, or any code designed to compromise systems.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the access gates (NDA, password, email allow-list, watermark, view counter, page-level download/print restrictions).
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or download rendered pages outside the permissions granted by the admin.
- Misrepresent your identity when signing an NDA or accessing a document.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except as expressly permitted under our coordinated disclosure program (see Security).
- Interfere with the service's availability through denial-of-service, excessive automated requests, or other means.
- Use the service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or phishing.
- Reverse engineer the service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without our prior written agreement.
3. Account responsibilities
Admins are responsible for the documents they share, including ensuring they have authority to share them and that the documents do not violate this AUP. Admins should configure access gates (NDA, password, authorized emails) appropriate to the sensitivity of each document.
4. Reporting abuse
To report content or conduct that violates this AUP, contact abuse@arkinvault.com. Include URLs and details where possible. We respond to legitimate reports promptly.
5. Enforcement
We may, at our sole discretion and without liability, investigate suspected violations; suspend or terminate accounts; remove or disable content; notify affected parties; and report violations to law enforcement. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice except where doing so would impede an investigation, endanger any person, or violate law.
6. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the admin interface.
